How many roads must a man walk down

The next time you hear on the news that a 19-year-old man got shot multiple times in the chest and abdomen, let me assure you -- he's not a man. He's a  kid. He looks like he's about 12 years old. He probably can't even really grow facial hair. He might be close to six feet tall, but he weighs about 140 lbs dripping wet. He hates it when his mom asks medical students questions. He gets cold in his hospital bed and wants more blankets. He's scared of how much pulling his chest tube out might hurt. He cries in anticipation and pleads for you to put him asleep for it. He holds his momma's hand as the tube comes out and squeezes hot tears out of his eyes. So the next time you hear about a 19 year old getting shot or stabbed, despite whatever preconceived notions you might have, let me assure you, he looks much more like Doogie Howser circa 1990 than LeBron James circa 2004. Definitely not a man.
